As literally everyone everywhere is aware by now, we’re in the middle of the freaking Book of Revelation at the moment. There’s a global plague on and in my home city we just had a major earthquake – which, guess what, coincided with me discovering that I have an actual phobia of earthquakes – not to mention all the other crap in the world right now like America, Great Britain, Russia, China, and numerous smaller territories have just the actual worst leadership ever and getting worse by the day.

…And on that happy note, let’s talk about my board gaming/arts and crafts blog.

Fortunately my home and family are so far safe, I still have my job and can work from home so money and exposure to illness aren’t currently major issues for me. On the other hand, that means that my life honestly hasn’t changed that much during all the madness and I still have all the same responsibilities and demands on my time that I normally would, so blog post speed isn’t going to noticeably speed up and may actually slow down. In fact I somewhat expect that since I’ve run out of advance-scheduled posts and need to catch up a bit.

As for content, however, I’ve got plenty more recipes and miniatures to post about, and more coming together as often as I can manage. I especially am looking forward to posting about Power Rangers: Heroes of the Grid, which has just so many miniatures in it, all of which are really lovely sculpts and of which I’ve done a pretty good job of painting a good bunch. Additionally, the Phase 2 expansion shipped before the Horrible Death locked everything down, so I’ve got some Zeo Rangers and just so, so many Tommys to paint.

And, on top of the minis I’ve written a comprehensive scenario guide following the story of the first few seasons of Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers, the Boom! Studios tie-in comics, and a bit of Power Rangers Hyperforce where there was room for it. The (tenuous) plan right now is to release them weekly for people to play along, but that’s going to heavily depend on my ability to write a crapload of flavor text on a regular basis since that part is nowhere near done.

Mice And Mystics: Downwood Tales is in progress, though it’s been quite a while since I’ve worked on it. There are currently 23 out of 26 pieces I haven’t done anything to but prime, so it’ll take a bit to get there. But they’re really nicely sculpted and have a lot of interesting features to detail, so I’m looking forward to it.

There’s a big project I’m probably 2/3 done with, a Master Grade RX-93-V2 Hi-Nu Gundam Ver. Ka. It’s huge and I’ve only just barely got the initial paint job done. I’ve still got to give several parts their topcoat, then panel line and decal everything before topcoating it all again, but it’s actually coming together finally and I hope to be able to post about it here.

I also have another, much smaller, Gunpla project in the works – an Exia Repair II. That one’s only just at the beginning, though.

My brother and I are in the (slow) process of putting together a fully-painted Scythe set with grungy cruddy-looking proto-Soviet mecha that I really like the details on.

Today’s lunch/dinner was a delicious miso chicken ramen with a rich, complex broth that I tossed together on a break earlier in my shift that I’d like to document here at some point.

This huge 3D printing and pixel art project is still very much in progress, partially because it’s a physical adaptation of a game that’s not yet completely finished, and partially because it just takes a really long time to put some of this stuff together. But the construction process is interesting and fully warrants an article of its own. Feel free to place your bets as to what I’ve adapted based on this photo.

Here we have one of my all-time favorite board games, Heroscape. I haven’t done much customization to my components since they’re difficult and expensive to get my hands on, but there’s a little bit, not to mention all the maps and after-action stories I could tell from the last 16 years of playing.
